following 4 essentials for purposeful growth:
• Lifelong Discipleship
Following Christ,
Becoming Like Christ
21. Then Jesus… said, “All
authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to
me. Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey
everything I have
commanded you. And
surely I am with you
always, to the very end of
the age.”
Mt 28:18-20THE GREAT COMMISSION
22. Painting by Akiane Kramarik
“Teacher, which is the greatest
commandment in the Law?” Jesus
replied: “‘Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with
all your mind.’This is the first
and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘Love
your neighbor as yourself.’
All the Law and the Prophets hang on
these two commandments”
Mt 22:36-40
23. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have
loved you, so you must love one another. By this
everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love
one another.” Jn 13:34-35
THE GREAT
COMMANDMENT
24. He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever
believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And
these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they
will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink
deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they
will get well.” After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he
sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the
Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. Mark
16:15-20

27. KEYS TO “FOLLOWING CHRIST”
1. ASK -- INQUIRE OF THE LORD!
2. LISTEN -- LISTEN TO HIS VOICE.
3. OBEY -- FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS
OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (NOT OF OUR
OWN REASONING / FLESH / SOUL).
4. CHECK -- INSURE OUR ACTIONS ARE
CONSISTENT WITH THE WORD OF GOD
(NOT THE WORDS / TRADITIONS OF
MAN / WOMAN)
31. “…. Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you
the truth, the Son can do nothing by
himself; he can do only what he sees his
Father doing, because whatever the Father
does the Son also does. For the Father
loves the Son and shows him all he does….
Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has
entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all
may honor the Son just as they honor the
Father. He who does not honor the Son
does not honor the Father, who sent him.
John 5: 16-23
32. Jesus answered, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows
