I see the lord (1)
1.
2. What do you see when you come to
church?
Who do you look for?
3. In the year that King Uzziah dies, I saw the
Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted,
and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Above him were seraphs, each with six
wings: With two wings they covered their
faces with two they covered their feet, and
with two they were flying. Isaiah 6: 1-2
4. And they were calling to one another: âHoly,
holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole
earth is full of His glory.â
At the sound of their voices the doorposts
and thresholds shook and the temple was
filled with smoke. Isaiah 6: 3-4
5. âWoe to me!â âI am ruined! For I am a man
of unclean lips, and I live among a people of
unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the
King, the Lord Almighty.â Isaiah 6:5
6. âAll of us have become like one who is
unclean, and all our righteous acts like filthy
rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the
wind our sins sweep us away.â Isaiah 64:6
7. The cleansing of the prophet
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in
his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
With it he touched my mouth and said, âSee, this has
touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin
atoned for.â Isaiah 6:7
8. âThe effect of that live coal will be to fire the lip with
heavenly flame. A flaming coal will burn the lip so that the
man cannot speak at all. That is just how God works with
us; it is by consuming the fleshly power that he inspires the
heavenly might. Oh let the lip be burnt, let the fleshly power
of eloquence be destroyed, but oh let the live coal to make
the tongue eloquent with heavenly flame; the true divine
power which urge the Apostles forward, and made them
conquerors of the whole world.â Spurgeon
9. The Commision of the Prophet
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
âWhom shall I send? And who will go for us?â
And I said, âHere am I. send me!â Isaiah 6:8
10. What was Isaiah sent to do?
He said, âGo and tell this people:
âBe ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.â
Isaiah 6:8
11. Make the heart of these people calloused;
make their ears dull and close their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears, understand with their
hearts, and turn and be healed.â Isaiah 6: 9-
10
12. Always learning but never able to
acknowledge
the truth. 2 Timothy 3:7
âą For the time will come when they will not tolerate
sound doctrine, but according to their own
desires
âą will accumulate teachers for themselves because
they have an itch to hear something new. They will
turn away from hearing the truth and will turn
aside to myth. 2 Timothy 4:3-4
13. How long was the judgment for?
Then I said, âFor how long, O Lord?â
And He answered: âUntil the cities lie ruined
and without inhabitant, until the house are
left deserted and the fields ruined and
ravaged, Isaiah 6:11
14. until the Lord has sent everyone far away
and the land is utterly forsaken. And though
a tenth remains in the land, it will again be
laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak
leave stumps when they are cut down, so
the holy seed will be the stump in the land.â
Isaiah 6: 12-13
