INTRODUCTION

                            You don't need to be an artist or an expert in stick-
                            figures. Remember that the purpose in using stick
                            figures is to make easier the teaching learning
                            process. You want to motivate students to use and
                            communicate in English.
      Cool TIPS for you !   Anyone can draw lines and circles. But you, the
                            instructor, are going to use this ability make your
                            classes more meaningful and productive. And you
                            must remember that students already know to use
                            lines, and circles. Now you and your students will
                            use stick figures objectively. Our ultimate goal is to

Objective 1                                                                                     THE STICK FIGURE
Drawing the Stick Figure
   We are going to identify the basic structure of the stick
figure and the different elements of the face and body. We
will include how to give expressions and actions to the stick
figure, and personality as well.

Objective 2
Stick Figures in the elaboration of Didactic materials.
   We are going to see how to use stick figures in the
elaboration of flash cards, posters, and other teaching
materials.

Objective 3
Stick Figures in language activities
  We will see how to use Stick Figures in Short Readings,
Grammar points, Poems, Controlled Compositions and so on


   As you see the other models of stick figures used by other
persons, you will realize the basic concepts on how to draw
stick figures will give you the alternative to create your own
stick figure characters in many ways and designs. Simplicity
is what counts. We recommend you to practice and copy the
different samples provided in this tutorial. Pick up the model
that best fits your ability and needs, then keep practicing until
you can easily draw your stick figures.

Objective 1: Defining the Stick Figure:
1          A stick Figure is the simplification of a real person , animal or thing into          One more Word about stick figures..

                                                                                          The chart you see below presents different ways to build up your stick
                                                                                          figure. The simplest Stick Figure is model A; but you may adopt model
                                                                                          B, model C, or model D, because there are not restricted rules in creating

                                                                                          unless you prepare your material beforehand. What counts is the message

    Basically the stick figure can be traced with just lines and circles.
    Yet you may use other shapes and element to create a variety of characters,
    or to make it easier for you the construction of stick figures according to                A

As you have observed in the previous page, with just a few lines and

some dots you can achieve almost all kinds of Basic expressions.
Not too much details is required. Watch your image in a mirror and

let you face picture different emotions by playing with your
eyebrows, eyes and mouth. With just these elements you can
illustrate short contents. Check the following chart below.

                   In giving action and personality to your stick figures, you must
                   consider these particular points:
                   1. Exaggerate the action.
                   2. Include facial expression in simple lines to stress the
                   situation.
                   3. Consider just the outstanding details regarding professions,
                   sports, nationalities and so on.
                   The following pages include just a few samples of stick figures
                   performing some of these features.

                                              Now you are ready to prepare charts, posters, flash cards, Power Point
                                              presentations, and so on with Stick Figures. Of course, you need to
                                              prepare a Lesson Plan beforehand. We have included some sample to
                                              help you organize your new lessons. On the other hand, you can ask
                                              your students to prepare their material with stick figures for a
                                              particular class. You can prepare material for grammar, vocabulary,
                                              short conversations and stories, and many other resources.

Our Specific Objectives SECTION 1 DRAWING Objective 1 THE STICK FIGURE Drawing the Stick Figure We are going to identify the basic structure of the stick figure and the different elements of the face and body. We will include how to give expressions and actions to the stick figure, and personality as well. Objective 2 Stick Figures in the elaboration of Didactic materials. We are going to see how to use stick figures in the elaboration of flash cards, posters, and other teaching materials. Objective 3 Stick Figures in language activities We will see how to use Stick Figures in Short Readings, Grammar points, Poems, Controlled Compositions and so on As you see the other models of stick figures used by other persons, you will realize the basic concepts on how to draw stick figures will give you the alternative to create your own stick figure characters in many ways and designs.
