Finished in first place to secure Championship status. Finished 8th in the Championship. Martinez left Swansea to manage elsewhere. Paulo Sousa was the new manager. He got the Swans to 7 th place missing play offs by a point. Sousa left after the season was over. Brendan Rodgers secured Premier League status by beating Reading in the play off final.
5. Key players of the season 1. Michel Vorm has set the Premier League alight. He is one of the reasons why the Swans are well above relegation. 2. Nathan Dyer is a speedy winger that helped Swansea gain promotion to the top league. He is known for his speed and ability to set up wonderful goals. 3. Scott Sinclair has been a success at Swansea City, scoring 22 goals last season. Sinclair so far this season has managed to net 7 goals.

7. The Play off Final 30/05/11 Swansea 4 Reading 2 The Jack Army was fully loaded with a sell out allocation to witness the greatest game in Swansea’s history. A goal from Stephen Dobbie and a hat trick performed by Scott Sinclair sealed Premier League glory, The Jacks were 3-0 up by half time. Reading managed to secure two goals to make it an uncomfortable one goal lead. 22 minutes later Sinclair scored his second penalty of the game to make it 4-2. Swansea was finally awarded for all the hard work put in for all of the past seasons.
