SYNOPSIS:
This course is an introduction to the field of library and information science. Students will be
exposed to its various concepts that will include historical perspective, organization of
information, types of information centers, information professionals and latest development
in information technologies.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the student should be able:-
1. Understand the role and importance of information agencies and archives in the
collection and transmission of knowledge and information.
2. Understand how to develop, manage and provide information services in information
agencies.
3. Understand some social and cultural technological that impinge libraries and information
agencies
