  1. Google ’ s server computer hosting the Web server program, and probably other Web application programs as well; this server computer is connected to the Internet. 2. Get a command window from Accessories; enter the command - ipconfig
  2. FTP - File Transfer Protocol The FTP protocol is the set of rules governing the transmission of files between computers. SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol The SMTP protocol is the set of rules governing the transmission of e-mails.
  3. A version of this slide is included in the Security notes. Site visitors may read the site ’ s contents, products, services, newsletters, etc. but may not modify them They may write information to the site ’ s database such as order information, email addresses, comments, questions, etc. Content Administrator: Allowed to update the information stored permanently in the site database, such as prices, product lines, current information etc. This interface is through a specially written interface, the contents maintenance system, suitable for domain experts to use. The Webmaster may have privileged access to update the content database, fixing any anomalies, etc. Performance administration is a technical task involving monitoring of performance, tuning, fixing errors, etc. Depending on the infrastructure of the organization the webmaster may maintain contents, although contents maintenance is a separate function. Site maintenance, improvement, feature modification, etc., is often carried out by the webmaster but is functionally a third separate task I have called enhancement or development administration. This is a highly privileged position, requiring the highest level of security. Configuration control is a separate function involving review and further testing before a new version of the site becomes the operational system.
