Aboriginal people have lived in
Australia for 50,000 years. They have
all sorts of tribes like Wadi Wadi,
Gundungurru and Eora, Daruk and
Wandandian.
The Aboriginal people were the first
people in Australia, they looked after
the land and animals.

Aboriginal people used to tell dream
time stories and they felt like they
were part of the land. There is over
200 dream time stories and lots of
culture told in the stories.

Aboriginal people have all different
roles the men hunted and the women
gathered. The men were out of their
tribes for nearly half a day.

All Aboriginal men gathered their food efficiently
and quietly. Some of the traditional foods they ate
were emu, kangaroo and lizard.
The land tribes usually ate land foods and water
tribes (tribes that lived near water) made spears and
went spear fishing and they usually ate fish.

Sacred places were made out of
different materials, such as Uluru,
cave paintings and the Ogres.

Cook and his crew arrived. They tried to defend for
themselves but they got killed by Captain Cook.
Captain Cook took over the Aboriginal land.

Many Aboriginal people still live on the lands of
their ancestors, speaking their own language and
keeping alive their culture through song and dance.
A large number of Aboriginal people live in major
cities across Australia. The ideas and feelings of
these ancestors are still in their blood and they
continue to understand what it is to belong to the
land.

Sydney Rabbitohs, his position is Fullback, centre
