As more and more companies are realizing the importance of exploiting available highly skilled staff through offshore outsourcing operations new ways of leveraging skills across organizations have emerged. The overall idea is to achieve cost arbitrage and improve quality of service at the same time. The recent trend is Knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) which involves outsourcing those operations that require strong domain knowledge, strong interpretation and analysis skills. Apparently, it requires highly skilled people to achieve knowledge arbitrage and is not rule-based.
