Presented at Open Knowledge Festival 2012 in Helsinki
by Ilkka Rinne, Founder & CTO, Spatineo Inc.
Abstract:
The increasing selection of online available geospatial data sets around the world is good news for the software developers building geo-applications, but finding suitable data sets and services, and evaluating them against your reliability and performance requirements, is not easy.
Spatineo gathers information about tens of thousands of openly available geospatial data web services globally, and publishes it on Spatineo Directory free of charge for app developers to use. With it's intuitive and powerful search engine and extensive coverage of freely available online services, you could say that Spatineo Directory is the “google of the geospatial web”.
Integration of Spatineo Directory content into social media sites is a encouraged with easy commenting and sharing options.
Spatineo Directory, to be released as public beta in autumn 2012, is a major step forward in supporting collaborative and efficient geospatial application ecosystems.

Hey guys, a really useful service! Could you please provide the layer
“ProtectedSites.Natura2000Polygons” with an alternative color
scheme? The default grey fill color is not that great with most bg
