5. َ ُ ََ ُْ َ ِ َِ َ ِ َ ِ َ ْ ُ
َيا َبني إِسْ رائيل اذكرُوا نعْ متي الَّتي أَ ْنعمْت عل ْيكم وأَ ْوفُوا
ِ
بعهدي أُوف بعهدكم وإِيَّاي فارْ هبُون
ِ َِ ِْ ُْ َ َ َ َ ِ َِ ِْ
ذرا خیال کرو میری اس نعمت کا جو میں نے تم کو عطا کی تھی، میرے ساتھ !اے بنی اسرائیل
تمھارا جو عہد تھا اُسے تم پورا کرو، تو میرا جو عہد تمہارے ساتھ تھا اُسے میں پورا کروں گا
اور مجھ ہی سے تم ڈرو
Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed
upon you and fulfill My covenant [upon you] that I will fulfill
)04( .your covenant [from Me], and be afraid of [only] Me
6. COVENANT OF ALLAH
• Bani Israel----Descendants of Yaqoob(AS)
• Allah’s greatest favour on them was choosing them for
leading the mankind and sending Prophets from amongst
them.
• They were supposed to adhere to Torah and believe in
their prophets
• In return Allah will give them dignity,honour and power

9. وآمنوا بما أَنز ْلت مُصدقا لِّما معكم وَل َتكونوا أَوَّ ل كافر به ۖ وَل
َ َ ٍِ ِِ َ َ َ ِّ ً َ َ َ ُ ْ َ َ ُ ُ َ ُِ َِ َ ُ
ِ ِ ِ َ َ ً َ َ َ َّ
َتش َترُوا بآ َياتي َثم ًنا قلِيًل وإِيَّاي فاتقُون
ْ
اور میں نے جو کتاب بھیجی ہے اس پر ایمان الؤ یہ اُس کتاب کی تائید میں ہے جو تمہارے
ٰ
پاس پہلے سے موجود تھی، لہذا سب سے پہلے تم ہی اس کے منکر نہ بن جاؤ تھوڑی قیمت پر
میری آیات کو نہ بیچ ڈالو او ر میرے غضب سے بچو
And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is
[already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do
)14( .not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me
10. وَل َت ْلبسُوا الحق بال َباطل و َتكتمُوا الحق وأَنتم َتعْ لمُون
ْ َ َّ َ ُ ْ َ َ ْ َ َّ ِ ْ ِ ِ َ ْ ُ َ َ ِ
باطل کا رنگ چڑھا کر حق کو مشتبہ نہ بناؤ اور نہ جانتے بوجھتے حق کو چھپانے کی کوشش
کرو
And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth
)24( .]while you know [it
11. وأَقيمُوا الصًَّلة وآتوا الزكاة وارْ كعُوا مع الرَّ اكعينۖ
ِِ َ َ َ َ َّ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ُ َ ِ
نماز قائم کرو، زکوۃ دو اور جو لوگ میرے آگے جھک رہے ہیں اُن کے ساتھ تم بھی جھک
ٰ
جاؤ
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who
)34( .]bow [in worship and obedience
12. SIGNS OF EMAAN
Salat
• an outward expression of faith in Allah
and submission before Him
Zakat
• Shows commitment towards rights of
fellow human beings
• They had left praying and got involved in
Riba instead of paying Zakah
14. أَ َتأْمرُون الناس بالبرِّ و َتنس ْون أَنفُسكم وأَنتم َت ْتلُون الك َتاَ ۖ أَفًل
ََ َ ِْ َ َ ُْ َ ُْ ُ َ َّ َ ِ ْ ِ َ َ َ
َتعْ قِلُون
َ
تم دوسروں کو تو نیکی کا راستہ اختیار کرنے کے لیے کہتے ہو، مگر اپنے آپ کو بھول جاتے
ہو؟ حاالنکہ تم کتاب کی تالوت کرتے ہو کیا تم عقل سے بالکل ہی کام نہیں لیتے؟
Do you order righteousness of the people and forget
yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not
)44( ?reason

15. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH
The Prophet (saw) said: “A man will be
brought forth on the Day of Resurrection
and thrown into the Fire. Then his
entrails will be spilled out into the Fire,
and he will be forced to walk around and
around like a donkey in a mill. The
people of Hell will gather around him and
will say, ‘O So-and-so, what is wrong with
you? Did you not enjoin us to do good
and forbid us to do evil?’ He will say, ‘I
used to order you to do good, but I did
not do it myself, and I used to forbid you
to do evil, but I used to do it myself.’
Then he will walk around and around like

a donkey in a mill.” (Bukhari)
16. َ ِ ِ َ ْ َ َ َّ َ ِ َ َ َ َ ِ َ َ ِ َّ ِ ُ ِ
واسْ َتعينوا بالصبْر والصًَّلة ۖ وإ َِّنها لكبيرة إَِل على الخاشعين
َ
صبر اور نماز سے مدد لو، بیشک نماز ایک سخت مشکل کام ہے
And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is
difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah](45)

17. CONNECTION BETWEEN SALAH AND SABR
Both source of help in turbulent times
Not possible to reach the desired state
of Salah without Sabar
Both require a deep state of ‘Khushoo’
to be implemented
Supreme forms of ‘Submission’ to Allah
An expression of Gratitude and
Contentment over ‘Ridha’ of Allah
Surah AL BAQARA
18. الَّذين َيظنون أ ََّنهُم مًُّلقُو ربِّهم وأ ََّنهم إ َِل ْيه راجعُون
َ ِْ َ ُْ ِ َ ِ َ َ ِ َ ُ ُّ َ
مگر ان فرماں بردار بندوں کے لیے مشکل نہیں ہے جو سمجھتے ہیں کہ آخر کار انہیں اپنے
رب سے ملنا اور اسی کی طرف پلٹ کر جانا ہے
Who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they
)64( .will return to Him

یاد کرو میری اُس نعمت کو، جس سے میں نے تمہیں نوازا تھا اور اس بات کو !اے بنی اسرائیل
کہ میں نے تمہیں دنیا کی ساری قوموں پر فضیلت عطا کی تھی
O Children of Israel, remember My favor that I have
bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over the
)74( .worlds
Surah Al-Baqarah
20. ْ ِ َّ
واتقُوا َي ْومًا َل َتجْ زي َنفس عن نفس ش ْي ًئا وَل يق َبل م ْنها شفاعة وَل
َ َّ ْ ٍ َ َ َ ُ ْ ُ ِ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َّ
ْ َُ ِ َ َْ َ َ ُْ
يُؤخذ م ْنها عدل وَل هم يُنصرُون
َ َ
اور ڈرو اُس دن سے جب کوئی کسی کے ذرا کام نہ آئے گا، نہ کسی کی طرف سے سفارش
قبول ہوگی، نہ کسی کو فدیہ لے کر چھوڑا جائے گا، اور نہ مجرموں کو کہیں سے مدد مل
سکے گی
And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at
all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will
)84( .compensation be taken from it, nor will they be aided

21. وإ ِْذ َنجَّ ْي َناكم مِّنْ آل فِرْ ع ْون َيسُومُو َنكم سُوء ا ْلعذاَ يُذبحُون
َ ِّ َ ِ َ َ َ ُْ َ َ ِ ُ َ
أَ ْب َناءكم و َيسْ َتحْ يُون نساءكم ۖ وفي ََٰذلِكم َبًلء مِّن رَّ بكم عظيم
ِ َ ْ ُ ِّ َ ُ ِ َ ُْ َ َ ِ َ َ ُْ َ
اور جو اس کو قبول کرنے سے انکار کریں گے اور ہماری آیات کو جھٹالئیں گے، وہ آگ میں
جانے والے لوگ ہیں، جہاں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے
And [recall] when We saved your forefathers from the people of
Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your
[newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great
trial from your Lord. (49)

22. وإ ِْذ فرق َنا بكم ال َبحْ ر فأَنج ْي َناكم وأَغرق َنا آل فِرْ ع ْون وأَنتم َتنظرُون
َ َ َ ُْ ُ َ َ ََْ ُُِ ْ َ َ َ ُْ َ ْ َْ َ
یاد کرو وہ وقت، جب ہم نے سمندر پھاڑ کر تمہارے لیے راستہ بنایا، پھر اس میں سے تمہیں
بخیریت گزروا دیا، پھر وہیں تمہاری آنکھوں کے سامنے فرعونوں کو غرقاب کیا
And [recall] when We parted the sea for you and saved you
and drowned the people of Pharaoh while you were looking
)05( .on
