The software Zoo Empire was effective much with regards to teaching users
about animals. Like where they live and how they survive. They did not sacrifice
education over entertainment; it is still learning over amusement. But though the
software was effective, target users, children, still did not enjoy enough playing the
simulation game since it was too complicated to play with. Buttons here, dropdown
menus, controlling the staff, animals, and visitors all at the same time! If localizing a
version of Zoo Empire would be possible, changes such as making the game simpler
would be really helpful for kids; of course without forfeiting the effectiveness of the
software. Graphics is good but it will be better to improve them so that it will catch usersâ
attention more than how much it caught peopleâs today. Less stuff to control will be also
contributing on how the software will be simpler than how simple it is now. I have even
asked 3 kids of different ages to provide their point of views regarding the Zoo Empire
and they have common reactions. It is effective, yet, I still needed a grown up to teach
me over and over again just to learn how to play the game - literally.
