He won a lot of
awards for his
films. Some of
his best films are
Nueve Reinas; El
Hijo de la Novia;
El Secreto de sus
Ojos; Elefante
Blanco; etc.
3. CARLOS GARDEL (1890-1935)
He was a singer, actor and
Argentine composer. In the
first half of the 20th century
he was the most important
tango singer. Some
investigators believe he was
born in Toulouse, France.
And other investigators
believe he was born in
Tacuarembo, Uruguay. In
1923 he was nationalized
Argentinean. Twelve years
later, he died in a plane
crash during a tour in
Medellin, Colombia.
4. RENE FAVALORO - DOCTOR (1923-
2000)
He was one the
great doctors
around the
world. The
bypass was the
greatest
discovery of his
life.
5. MARIA EVA DUARTE DE PERON (1919-
1952)
Known as Domingo
Peron’s wife. As his first
lady, she promoted the
recognition of worker’s
rights and women’s right,
including women’s. She
conducted an extensive
social work from the
foundation “Eva Peron.”
6. RAUL ALFONSIN - PRESIDENT.(1927-
2009)
He was a lawyer,
politician,
statesman and
promoter of rights
in Argentina. In
1983 he was our
president and
ended a coup d'état
that deposed a
democratic
government in our
country.
7. ERNESTO GUEVARA (1928-1967)
Known as “Che
Guevara”, he was a
political person,
writer, journalist and
an Argentine-Cuban
doctor. He was one of
the commanders of
the Cuban revolution.
He participated of the
revolution until 1965.
He also participated
in the organization of
the Cuban state.
8. DOMINGO FAUSTINO SARMIENTO
– FAMOUS CITIZEN (1811-1888)
He was the
creator of the
school. The
teacher’s day
was established
on September
11th
in
commemoration
of his death.
9. JORGE LUIS BORGES (1899-1986)
He was an
Argentine writer.
One of the most
prominent
authors of the
twentieth century
literature. He
published short
trials, stories and
poems.
10. NESTOR KIRCHNER – PRESIDENT (1950-
2010)
He was a
politician,
Argentine lawyer
and businessman.
He was president
of our country for
nine years. He was
one of the great
Argentinean
because he saved
the economy when
it was broken.
11. JOSE DE SAN MARTIN (1778-1850)
He was an
Argentine
regimental
military. His
campaigns were
decisive for the
independence of
Argentina, Chile
and Peru.
