This document summarizes a project aimed at developing digital literacies for staff and students in UK higher education. The project is funded by JISC for £1.5 million over two years from July 2011 to July 2013. The project involves 12 partner institutions and professional organizations. The objectives of the project include gaining understanding of students' digital literacies, evaluating current provision, reviewing institutional readiness for change, implementing four pilot programs across contexts, exploring staff needs, and developing exemplar strategies for digital literacies as a post-graduate attribute. The document outlines focus groups conducted with PGCE, Masters, Doctoral and distance students to understand their technology uses and identities.
