As you remember, around September 08 was when the lending market issues were revealed, which started the decline for the general economy The AV economy saw a swift decline from Jan 09 to October 09 where it bottomed out A slow and stead increase in performance has been seen for the last 16 months. Does this mean that we’ve seen the bottom and are on a permanent incline? Who knows? (57% think so) but hopefully the situation has taught us to be more prudent, and to build better relationships with our customers so each of us gets through this positively
This graph adds one line to the last graph, which is how in each survey, we asked the participant to predict how the next 6 months looked for their company.
Most prevalent response is in bold Critical was omitted because of such a small amount of data Each segment was in the “good” category for the next 6 months, except Ind. Prog/MM Prof
Every one is improving. “ Good” was the most common response for all segments The less mature markets, like Latin America and Asia seem to have the most optimistic outlook, which makes sense, because they also have the most room to grow.

I love being the bearer of good tidings, but let’s not kid ourselves, we need to make sure we are not caught off guard. We may have weathered the worst of the storm, and the outlook may be good, but with the general economy still hurting, National unemployment rates at 9.1%, but with some states like Michigan at 11.3%, hard times are certainly not over for everyone. What are some of the lessons you’ve learned? Maybe some customers aren’t worth keeping? Just who are you best and most loyal employees? Maybe you’ve fixed some processes that weren’t working, or at least not well. You’ve realized just how valuable each and every customer is, deliver exceptional customer service, and they’ll remain loyal Good information to make decisions, to enable you to react quickly, but without being knee-jerk, The kind of information I’m talking about is both internal and external to your organization.
Based on strong response from this market – an opportunity to break out – target the surveys for even greater response!
