New Skoda Superb Facelift Coming to India
1. Facelifted Superb would be coming soon to
India
SKODA SUPERB FACELIFT
Earlier we had told you that the facelifted Superb would be coming soon to India with an Auto Expo 2014
launch and it seems the plans are on the right track as first pictures of the facelifted Superb testing on
Indian soil have surfaced. As you can see other than taking out the badges and logos, Skoda have not
disguised any part of the car at all. Alongside the new Octavia which is coming in a few months, the new
Superb though a facelift, gets some important updates.
2. Being a huge success worldwide the new Superb has been subtly changed but has some critical
improvements. The looks are the biggest changes done. The design of the front is now in sync with the
other cars in the Skoda range. The front features bi-xenon headlights coupled with integrated LED daytime
running lights plus there is a new grille, bumper and bonnet.
From the side, the new Superb retains its unique look and you can see how long the rear door is when you
see it from the side. The tail-lights with three LED stripes look a lot better than the current model.
3. NEW SKODA-SUPERB
The talking point is the interior which remains just fantastic and gets a new look. Customers can choose
between three- and four-spoke steering wheels plus there are nine new fabrics available for the seat covers
as well as new designs. In the top model which is the L&K there is a new brown-ivory colour combination
available. Also what you might like is the fact that the front passenger seat can now be moved from the rear
electronically. Of course, the unique bits like the umbrella stored in the door remain which also comes in
the Rolls-Royce Phantom!
4. SKODA-SUPERB INTERIOR
For customers who prefer to sit in the rear the trump card of the new Superb continues to be its fantastic
rear space with 157 millimetres of rear legroom on offer. Other changes include the availability of the latest-
generation Automatic Parking Assistant which now supports both parallel and reverse perpendicular
parking and assists in entering and leaving parking spaces.
The features list is brimming with stuff like the automatic lock and start system, air conditioning and four
audio and navigations systems with 6.5″ colour touch screen and integrated 30GB hard drive. The engines
are not changed and we think they did not need changing in the first place. Though they are now 19
percent more efficient. We will gladly take that. The all-wheel drive 2.0 TDI diesel also now comes with a
six-speed DSG dual clutch transmission.
The new Superb then gets even better than before and we think this car can even take on the likes of the
Merc’s and BMW’s!
