2. About the band.
The Naked And Famous are a band who originate from Auckland in
Australia. The members are: Alisa Xayalith, Jesse Wood, Aaron Short,
Thom Powers, and David Beadle. The Naked and Famous formed in
2008 after Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith recorded singles with
Aaron Short at music college. Later, these got released locally with a
label ‘Round Trip Mars’, this gave the band hope and they
consequently began to perform live. At this point, Jordan Clarke was
on the drums and Ben Knapp was on bass. In 2009 both Jordan and
Ben left the band and this is when Jesse Wood and David Beadle
made their appearance and became full time members of the band.
Interestingly, the band chose their name from a line in a song called
‘Tricky Kid’, this line was ‘everybody wants to be naked and famous’.
By June 2012, The Naked and Famous had played to more than
600,000 people in 24 countries.
