The water problem in the current
environment and ineffective use of sewage
water in the present scenario leads us to
select such a topic.
The method used for conversion of water

Many plants are used for Phytoremediation of
water. The plant named(Lemon
grass)Cymbopogon citratus is used for
phytoremediation in this project, which is not
used until now for phytoremediation of domestic
sewage water. With the analysis of before and
after treatment of sewage water the efficiency of
the plant is determination

6. CONCLUSION
The parameters like COD, TDS, of sewage water after treatment
were reduced upto 75% . Therefore the plant ‘lemon grass’ is 75%
efficient in reducing the COD level of water.
The other parameters like TDS is increased since TDS, pH & EC are
interdependent so EC is also increased. The TDS is increased
because the dissolved particles present in the soil has increased the
TDS of water.
The filtering system should be washed so that the TDS is not
increased
