3. What is the Texas STaR Chart?
The Texas STAR Chart was developed by the Texas
Education Agency Educational Technology Advisory
Committee , as an online resource tool for self-assessment
of your campus’ and district’s efforts to integrate technology
across the curriculum.
It is aligned with the Texas Long Range Plan for
Technology, 2006-2020.
Its rubric serves as the standard for assessing technology
preparedness in Texas K-12 schools.

4. Why is the Texas Campus STAR Chart
important?
The Texas Campus STaR Chart is a tool designed for
use in technology planning, budgeting for
resources, and evaluation of progress in local
technology projects.
It is required for all applications for state funded
technology grants.
It is used as an indicator of current status and progress
and as a formative and/or summative evaluation tool.
It is used to report on progress toward fulfilling the
requirements of NCLB, Title II, Part D.

5. What is the purpose of the Texas
Campus STaR chart?
To produce a profile of the campus’ status toward
reaching the goals of the Long Range Plan for
Technology (LRPT) and No Child Left Behind.
The produced profile indicators will place campuses at
one of four levels of progress in each key areas of the
LRPT:

Developing Tech
Advanced Tech
Target Tec
