7 Telephone Interviews Tom Gracey as a Vice President/Chief Underwriter for a major insurance carrier was one of the first pioneers and creators of the Telephone Interview concept over 30 years ago. Under the ESP umbrella there is no limit to creative solutions for your mortality and morbidity protection – You will have the power of ESP working for you. Point of sale concepts were brought to new creative solutions under Tom’s, Chad’s, and Carla’s  leadership over the past 25 years and we at ESP are introducing to the insurance industry new creative point of sale concepts and rules based underwriting solutions in association with creative interviewing. We train our interviewers to think and respond as trained underwriters – ESP has a one of a kind training program that is designed as a Underwriting training program. Our training program is designed by Tom and all training and on-going training is personally done by Tom, Chad, and Carla, and our Medical Director. ESP requires on-going training of our interviewers that duplicates training of a Underwriter. We will customize and create a program that best fits your company, mortality, morbidity, and budget. 8 Telephone Application We were among the early pioneers in Tele-Application processing years ago. We understand why you need ESP to provide accurate, timely, cost effective, and understandable applications that can not be compromised.  The connectivity between ESP, paramedical companies, and other insurance service providers depending on your rules/procedures must be monitored and controlled to insure timely and accurate processing of the application. ESP will insure that connectivity and communication are established and maintained. There are numerous parts and processes to a Tele-Application program. 9 Express Doctor’s Report – E.Dr. How many times have you said I don’t need a full APS and I don’t have time to wait and it costs too much?  If only I had a way to get limited data to make an underwriting decision -- where is ESP when I need it? E. Dr.is not a substitute for the traditional Attending Physician Statement (APS); however, it can be used instead of an APS very effectively when you only need certain data. (What were the results of last months exam, Path Report of cancer 3 years ago etc.) The situations are numerous – you design the need every time you want a E. Dr. – no set rules, no limit to your ESP. We can even set up routine 5 question or less impairment E. Dr’s to zero in on mortality or morbidity concerns in certain ages, products etc. You analyze your need and then let your ESP take over. 10                      Attending Physician Statement We believe there are many Excellent APS providers in our Industry and the method is the same today as it was years ago except for how the transfer of the data is handled back and forth. We as an insurance community are at the mercy of medical facilities and doctors. There have been many different approaches to obtaining APS’s over the years but it is still difficult. There are beliefs that one provider has better service over another provider – this may be true based on organizational structure, delivery systems, how fast you process the request and with or without a check etc. However, we simply don’t think that at the end of the day when you look at the whole picture you are satisfied with the current process regardless of who the provider is and its costing you a lot of time and money and perhaps loss of business. We are not claiming we are faster or even better – but we are organized and experienced – you have to be the judge.   We feel we can offer you -- one important difference in the APS situation -- cost savings and built in auditing of the APS process. It’s our partnership funding concept that we call PFC. With a little ESP this PFC can ease the pain of the cost factor and we will provide competitive excellent service. APS summary programs that fit your needs can be designed especially for you also. Historical: The story starts in 1967 with Tom Gracey – Tom was a medic in the military and after returning home from his tour in Southeast Asia  he joined Mutual/United of Omaha Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska.   He worked in the policy owner service department at Mutual for years while he attended college at night and in 1974 he earned his undergraduate degree in Business. Where we are today starts at that point. Tom went on to become an Underwriter at several  insurance companies and became one of the youngest Vice President’s of Underwriting in the country at that time. During this period of underwriting he also earned  Master degrees in Management and Human Relations. He was an adjunct faculty member at several colleges teaching weekends and evenings – thus creating an intense desire for training and education for all the future employees to come. He took a 6 month sabbatical from the insurance industry to become an Academic Dean of one of the largest business colleges in the Mid-West. During these years as head of underwriting and administration for several insurance companies Tom pioneered the telephone interview concept in the Insurance Industry along with other creative underwriting concepts. During these years – Carla Brown joined Tom as his trusted manager. While working in Kansas, Tom was asked to be a founding Executive to start an Insurance Company from scratch in Omaha, Nebraska by one of the largest insurance companies in the USA at the time -- he didn’t hesitate to get back to his roots in Omaha. It wasn’t long before Tom asked Carla to move her family from Kansas to Omaha to be the underwriting administration head of operations for the new insurance company. The desire to create new concepts and alternatives for the insurance industry started way back in 1967 and the intense desire to be an entrepreneur was becoming an overwhelming focus in Tom’s life once the insurance company was up and running and successful. Tom left to start an Underwriting and Insurance Services Company. It wasn’t long after starting the company that Carla and Tom’s two sons, Scott and Chad, joined the company. Tom, Carla, Scott and Chad built together along with fantastic and faithful clients plus numerous trusted, valued, loyal, and gifted employees one of the largest underwriting/insurance services outsourcing companies in America . In 2004 after almost 20 years of operations we sold our company. In 2007 – ESP was founded to provide high quality, integrity based, fair priced products with creative professional alternatives for the insurance industry. If only I had a way to get limited data to make an underwriting decision -- where is ESP when I need it? E. Dr.is not a substitute for the traditional Attending Physician Statement (APS); however, it can be used instead of an APS very effectively when you only need certain data.   • 18. 10 Attending Physician Statement We believe there are many Excellent APS providers in our Industry and the method is the same today as it was years ago except for how the transfer of the data is handled back and forth. We as an insurance community are at the mercy of medical facilities and doctors. There have been many different approaches to obtaining APS’s over the years but it is still difficult. There are beliefs that one provider has better service over another provider – this may be true based on organizational structure, delivery systems, how fast you process the request and with or without a check etc. However, we simply don’t think that at the end of the day when you look at the whole picture you are satisfied with the current process regardless of who the provider is and its costing you a lot of time and money and perhaps loss of business. We are not claiming we are faster or even better – but we are organized and experienced – you have to be the judge. We feel we can offer you -- one important difference in the APS situation -- cost savings and built in auditing of the APS process. It’s our partnership funding concept that we call PFC. Historical: The story starts in 1967 with Tom Gracey – Tom was a medic in the military and after returning home from his tour in Southeast Asia he joined Mutual/United of Omaha Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked in the policy owner service department at Mutual for years while he attended college at night and in 1974 he earned his undergraduate degree in Business. Where we are today starts at that point. Tom went on to become an Underwriter at several insurance companies and became one of the youngest Vice President’s of Underwriting in the country at that time. During this period of underwriting he also earned Master degrees in Management and Human Relations. He was an adjunct faculty member at several colleges teaching weekends and evenings – thus creating an intense desire for training and education for all the future employees to come. He took a 6 month sabbatical from the insurance industry to become an Academic Dean of one of the largest business colleges in the Mid-West. During these years as head of underwriting and administration for several insurance companies Tom pioneered the telephone interview concept in the Insurance Industry along with other creative underwriting concepts. During these years – Carla Brown joined Tom as his trusted manager. While working in Kansas, Tom was asked to be a founding Executive to start an Insurance Company from scratch in Omaha, Nebraska by one of the largest insurance companies in the USA at the time -- he didn’t hesitate to get back to his roots in Omaha. It wasn’t long before Tom asked Carla to move her family from Kansas to Omaha to be the underwriting administration head of operations for the new insurance company. The desire to create new concepts and alternatives for the insurance industry started way back in 1967 and the intense desire to be an entrepreneur was becoming an overwhelming focus in Tom’s life once the insurance company was up and running and successful. Tom left to start an Underwriting and Insurance Services Company. It wasn’t long after starting the company that Carla and Tom’s two sons, Scott and Chad, joined the company. Tom, Carla, Scott and Chad built together along with fantastic and faithful clients plus numerous trusted, valued, loyal, and gifted employees one of the largest underwriting/insurance services outsourcing companies in America . In 2004 after almost 20 years of operations we sold our company.
