Wilde is considered one of the
foremost playwrights of late
Victorian London, also was a
celebrity of the time due to its
large and sharp wit. Today, he is
remembered for his epigrams,
plays and the tragedy of his
imprisonment, followed by his
early death.
2. FLORENCE BALCOMBE
• After graduating from
Magdalen College,
Oscar Wilde returned to
Dublin, where he met
and fell in love with
Florence Balcombe.
She, meanwhile, began
a relationship with
Bram Stoker, whom she
married in 1878
3. CYRIL
• Cyril, who was born in June 1885,
and Vyvyan, born in November
1886. were separated as a result
of the scandal Wilde process. After
Wilde's imprisonment, Constance
changed her name and that of
their children to Holland to
disassociate themselves from the
scandal, but never divorced Wilde,
who was also forced to give up
custody of their children.
