This document discusses using VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) to make phone calls over the internet. It explains that VoIP can be more cost effective than traditional phone service and allows using normal phones in a flexible system. It introduces Trixbox as an open source software package that bundles Asterisk, FreePBX and other tools to create a VoIP server.
