6. ONLINE CROWD-FUNDING
2013 was a big year for websites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo - online
portals allowing people to invest in a stranger's dream.

YouTube publishes the list of most watched videos in 2013. 1st is the pop song and
music video “What does the fox say?”, followed by the “Harlem shake, military

• Gartner predicts 75% increase in worldwide shipping of 3D printers.
• In 2014, the first 3D printed liver will be produced.

PERSONAL DRONES
Domestic drones will hover over our heads. Expect to see drones delivering your latest
package from Amazon, or shooting footage of places difficult for humans to get to.

11. WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY
In 2014, you will see more people wearing technology instead of carrying it.

12. FLEXIBLE SCREENS
We’re used to seeing screens get bigger and flatter, but starting this year,
we should start too see them get flexible too.

13. GOOGLE WILL FIND ITS WAY INTO OUR HOMES
Google’s acquisition of NEST is seen as the first major step towards future
“smart homes”. The combination of Google’s language recognition and
Nest’s home solutions may be worth keeping an eye on.
