2. Howard Gardner (1943- )
Howard Gardner is a professor at Harvard who has
conducted research resulting in the development of
what he called the theory of multiple intelligences.

3. Gardner’s theory of Multiple
Intelligences

Naturalist An awareness of the natural world
around them.

7. Classroom Implications
Understanding that everyone learns
differently teachers need to use
different mediums for each lesson
idea. That way if a student doesn’t
understand an idea one way, they will
another way within their learning
intelligence.

8. Teaching Students using Multiple
Intelligence Theory
•Without technology the students need several different
projects that are hands on as well creative, visual, and
cooperative learning.
•With technology the students who are more
logical, musical, and/or visual will understand the lesson
more and reinforce it for the other students. The teacher
will show PowerPoints with music to help the musical
students remember certain lesson ideas.

9. What the Students do Under the
Multiple Intelligence Theory
•Students will take notes with visual aids, do hands on
projects (kinesthetic), reflections on the lessons, and
have the information/notes organized systematically to
help those who recognize patterns and sounds.

10. How I will Incorporate the Multiple
Intelligence Theory into my Teaching
• First I will assess the students in my class and take
note of their different learning strengths and
weaknesses.
•Based on my findings I will try to teach each lesson
incorporating the mediums to give each student the
optimal learning opportunity to guarantee success.
