COOL SOLV - SRWT 1121.
. ANTISCALANT
Description Cool Solv SRWT-1121 is a concentrated liquid formulation containing
organic polymers.
Uses Cool Solv SRWT-1121 inhibits scale formation in R.O. and Thermal
Desalination Systems due to calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate and
barium sulphate and strontium sulphate deposits with little or no
acid feed. The product works through crystal distortion and
sequestration mechanism.
Features Cool Solv SRWT-1121 is completely water soluble. It has effective
deposit prevention capability even at highly alkaline pH Unlike the
phosphate based scale inhibitor Cool Solv SRWT-1121 works at
significantly low dosage level. It is also more versatile because
it can prevent deposits of both carbonate & sulphate salts of
Calcium, Barium and Strontium. The product is compatible with all
types of membrane and will not violate membrane warrantees. The
product is highly effective in any Thermal Desalination system.
Applications Cool Solv SRWT-1121 is a specially designed chemical program for
excellent deposit control in reverse osmosis (RO) and Thermal
Desalination systems.
Dosage Cool Solv SRWT-1121 dosage generally varies from 3 to 15 ppm.
Exact dosage level depends on the type of membrane and the system
dynamics / characteristics. For potable drinking water system-
maximum permissible dosage level is 10 mg/litre.
Cool Solv SRWT-1121 should be fed through a pump to a membrane
system prior to the final cartridge filter. If media filtration or
activated carbon is used, polymer should be applied after these
treatment stages. In case of Thermal Desalination systems the feed
point will be at the feed water intake line.
Typical Odor and Appearance : Clear Yellow/Brownish liquid with
Properties characteristics odor
Sp. Gravity : 1.271 at 250C
Boiling Point : 1040C
Solubility : Highly Soluble
PH : 11.0 - 11.5
Benefits Cool Solv SRWT-1121 prolongs membrane life and thus lengthens the
time between membrane cleanings. It also eliminates or minimizes
acid feed. In case of Thermal Desalination systems the product will
increase system run lengths.
Handling Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, flush with
water for few minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and launder
before re-use.
Storage The product should be stored with their seals intact, in conditions
that avoid extreme temperature. Under the above conditions the
shelf life of the product would be approx. 2 yrs.
Packaging Cool Solv SRWT-1121 is available in 30/50 litre HDPE
jerricans/barrels.
Product Cool Solv SRWT-1121 can be supplied on request from Dorf Ketal’s
Availability manufacturing site at Taloja near Mumbai.

3. OUR APPLICATION AREA
Dorf Ketal has products to solve any kind of problem related to Cooling and Boiler water system.
We recently developed products in our fuel additive division for different fuel application.
Cooling Water System:
Generally there are three major problems encountered in an industrial cooling water system, viz
Corrosion, Scaling and Microbiological growth. Each of these require specialized chemicals to
minimize the effect on plant performance and improve productivity. Please find below a brief
description of the individual cooling water product applications;
Corrosion Inhibitors:
These are multifunctional products mainly used for control of both corrosion and scaling in an
Industrial cooling water system. It contains organo-phosphate, ortho-phosphate, poly phosphate,
zinc, molybdate with the combination of powerful dispersant depending upon the application.
Polymers:
Dorf Ketal has a wide range of polymers in its product range. These are useful in controlling
scale and deposition in applications where the cooling water has high hardness, high TDS level
& high heat load. Dispersants also help in dispersing suspended particles, minerals salts and
organic materials.
4. Non Oxidizing Biocides:
We have Broad spectrum biocides to control microbial species like, bacteria, fungi, and algae by
different mechanisms. Our product range consists of various chemistries like, Isothiazolene,
Quarternary Ammonium compounds, TBTO, DBNPA, Bronopol, Carbamate etc., based biocides.
Boiler Water System:
Industrial boiler water systems mainly encounter problems due to oxygen pitting, scaling and
corrosion. These if uncontrolled can cause rapid failure of boiler tubes which in turn lead to
equipment failure, loss of production and energy losses. Which would result in reduced boiler
efficiency and increased downtime.
Dorf Ketal Products:
Dorf Ketal has developed products to protect the complete
boiler water system from oxygen related corrosion, scaling
and deposition. We have a whole range of oxygen scavengers
from Catalyzed sulfite, Hydrazine and DEHA which can
protect the boiler water system from oxygen pitting. These
can be applicable for low, medium as well as high pressure
boilers. We also have pH boosters and neutralizing
amines/Filming amines are available to prevent corrosion
due to low pH in condensate line.
5. Antiscalant for R.O. System:
Dorf Ketal has developed a comprehensive product in
R.O.application. It is a polymer based product mainly used to
prevent membrane fouling from deposit forming species and
increase plant run length and hence increase membrane life by
reducing cleaning frequency.
Thermal Desalination :
Dorf Ketal has developed a next generation antiscalant to maintain aid in Thermal
Desalination operations. Some of the product benefits are given below,
Prevents the formation of typical evaporator scale.
Effectively controls carbonate as well as sulphate scale formation in a multistage thermal
distillation process.
It is NSF approved for use upto 10 ppm.
It has higher dispersing ability for mud, suspended matter and silt.
Highly effective in sea water, brackish water and bad quality bore well water.
It is multifunctional and can disperse calcium salts and iron oxides much more
effectively at high temperatures as compared to standard products and hence will
maintain cleaner heat transfer surfaces by better and more effective dispersion
mechanism.
6. Fuel Additives:
In Fuel Additive segment we have various ranges of products which can be used in fuels like
HSD, LSHS, LDO, FO, Coal etc. The main properties are present in our different types of fuel
additives are Dispersant, Fuel Stabilizer, Combustion Catalyst, Deposits & Corrosion Inhibitor,
Cetane & Lubricity Improver.
