Lab 1: Uploading a file to create an artifact
Objectives
At the end of this lab you will be able to upload a file to the Requirements Management (RM) application and create
an artifact that encapsulates the file.

► The JKE Banking Money That Matters project
Description
► In this lab, you are Bob the analyst. The graphics team provided you with an image that you requested.
You will upload this image to your project so that the team can use the image as needed.

Task 1: Upload an image file
In this task, you upload an image file that you can use in user interface sketches or parts as you elaborate
requirements.
1. You are in the lab environment All Projects page of the RM application (https://jazz-
server:9443/rm/web). You are logged in as bob with password bob.
2. Navigate to the the JKE (Requirements Management) project Artifact page. Hint: In the My Projects section,
find the JKE Banking (Requirements Management) project and click Show Artifacts.
3. From the navigation pane, select the JKE Business Recovery Matters Project folder.
4. Click the folder’s Edit icon and from the Edit menu, select Upload.

5. In the “Upload file” window, click the arrow for the Mime Type list, and note the types of files that you can
upload.
6. Complete these steps:

a. For the file to upload, browse to the Desktop folder and then click Requirements > dollar_symbol.jpg.
b. For the MIME type, verify that JPEG Image (jpg) is selected.
c. In the Name field, type Dollar symbol.
d. For the artifact type, select Supporting Resource.
e. For the folder to upload the file to, browse to the JKE Business Recovery Matters Project folder and then
click User Story Elaboration > UI Sketches > Images.
f. Select the Open Artifact check box.
g. Click Finish.
The new artifact opens in the Artifact editor.
7. Return to the Images folder and confirm that the new artifact, “Dollar symbol,” is in the folder.
Task 2: Optional: Edit the uploaded image artifact
The graphics team made a small change to the image. You update the artifact so that it includes the latest image.
1. Open the “Dollar symbol” artifact.
2. Click Edit. Notice that in order to edit the content of this artifact, you must open an external application, such
as Microsoft® Paint. However, you can edit the attributes of the artifact in the RM application.

3. In the Description field, type Graphics image v2 uploaded.
4. In the content section, click the link to upload a new version of the artifact.
5. Browse to the Desktop folder, and then click Requirements > dollar_symbolV2.jpg.

6. Click Finish.
7. Verify that the updated graphic has “JKE” in the center of the graphic, and then click Done.
8. Return to the Images folder.
