3. About Us
NIC Construction Sdn Bhd (NIC) was incorporated on 6 February 2003 under the
Companies Act, 1965 as a public limited company. NIC is an investment holding
company and its subsidiaries and associated companies are involved in construction,
property development, manufacturing, trading and the power sector.
The core company of NIC is NIC Construction Sdn Bhd. NIC was incorporated in
Malaysia under the name of Chye Hin Construction Company Limited on 9 December
1965 as a private limited company under Section 15(1) of the Companies Ordinances,
1940 to 1946. It changed its name to Chye Hin Construction Company Sdn Bhd on 15
April 1966. On 19 August 1972, its name was further changed to Mudajaya
Construction Sdn Bhd and subsequently to NIC Construction Sdn Bhd on 19 May 1997.
On 10 June 1997, it was converted into a public limited company and assumed its
present name, NIC. On 1 July 2002, a management buy-out (“MBO”) exercise on NIC
was carried out by the management team led by its managing director, Mr Ng Ying
Loong. The MBO was completed on 19 February 2003.
Subsequently, a restructuring exercise involving an acquisition of 100% equity interest
in NIC by NIC has paved the way for the listing exercise of the NIC Construction Group
of Companies. In this respect, the incorporation of NIC was to serve as a vehicle for
the listing and quotation of NIC Group of Companies on the Bursa Malaysia Securities
Berhad (“BMSB”). The aforesaid restructuring exercise was completed on 1 March
2004.

4. Mr Nicolas Wong Xiao En has been on the Board since 09 November 1995.
He has been with NIC since 1985 during which time he held various senior management
positions. Mr Nicolas has extensive working experience in tender, finance and implementation of
infrastructure projects. He was President of the Master Builders Association of Malaysia
(MBAM), the collective and recognised voice of the construction industry in Malaysia, from 2008
to 2010 and was previously a Board member of the Construction Industry Development Board
(CIDB), Council Member of the Building Industry Presidents’ Council (BIPC) and Council Member
of the ASEAN Constructors Federation (ACF).
He is presently a Board member of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific
Contractors’ Association (iFAWPCA), Vice President of Malaysian Service Providers Confederation
(MSPC), member of the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) and Advisory Board member
of Construction Labour Exchange Centre Berhad (ClAB). Mr Nicolas was recently elected as a
Fellow Class of the Chartered Institute of Building, UK (FCIOB).
He is responsible for the Group’s expressway concession interests in Malaysia. His skills and vast
experience, having worked for the Company for 28 years across a wide spectrum of businesses
including infrastructure concession projects, trading and investments, enable him to contribute
significantly to the Group’s overall business and to the Board. His involvement as the President
of MBAM, Board member of CIDB and ClAB, and Council Member of BIPC and ACF, enable him to
contribute on issues affecting the building and construction industries.

NIC Construction Sdn.Bhd. has the latest machines, and hardware which are helpful
in building construction task, and with our help the task of construction can be
finished on time with ease and effectiveness. With our expertise and long term
contracting experience, we will finish clients’ work on time as stated in agreement.

NIC Construction Sdn.Bhd. has experience and valuable inputs are always helpful for
new people in building construction. Construction work is not among that type of
work which can be performed daily. Construction needs lots of time and investment
and if the inexperience causes the loss of money, time or result then it's really sad.
•Provide suggestion to client while in the process
of construct building.
Even if clients are experienced with building construction and have prior experience of
several such projects yet they still need valued suggestion of building construction
companies to make their task easier. At every phase of construction, NIC Construction
Sdn.Bhd. suggests value suggestions and inputs can help clients to reduce the costs and

10. Portfolio – Completed Project
•Construction of 9 – 18 storey apartments and 20 blocks of 4-storey aparments on Plot
3, Batu Kawah New Township, Jalan Batu Kawa, Kuching, Sarawak.
•The design, construction and completion of a 220 rooms low cost hotel building
(Tune Hotel) at part of Lot 1, Low Cost Carrier Terminal, International Airport, KLIA,
Mukim Sepang, Daerah Sepang, Selangor.
•Construction of Administration and Great Hall and Medical Faculty for the
Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Technology (“AIMST”), Mukim
