6. Why did opposition to the war
intensify?
More and more Americans oppose the war;
Hawks and doves drifted farther apart. More groups
organized against the war. As the war lengthened,
many Americans began to question U.S
involvement. Morale declines as war wears on.
President Johnson keeps increasing the spending
because of eliminating poverty, and people are
like “Excuse me, why are we doing this? ” many
more and more people were killed and people
got angry and started to question a lot.
