• A digipak is a modern approach to CD
packaging
• It allows for inclusion of more information
about the band/artist
• They typically consist of a gatefold (book-style)
which are paperboard or card outer binding,
with plastic CD trays
3. Conventions of a Digipak
• A digipak can consist of four/ six or eight panels
• There is imagery of the artist, which echoes the visual
style
• The text is in clear, bold fonts and there are never more
than two fonts, as this would cause mixed messages
• The front panel consists of the image of the album, the
artist, the album name, stickers (featuring, explicit)
• The back panel consists of a list of tracks, barcode,
more imagery, owners of copyright and the price of the
CD
