3. Students will be able to make some short conversations.
4. Students will be able to understand the differences between sounds.
PROCEDURE
STAGE 1 – PRESENT
Firstly, students watch a video which is related to minimal pair words. Students give
their attention only how the words pronounced. They listen to song together and they learn the
meaning of these minimal pairs without any Turkish word. And also they learn these words’
pronunciation easily. They watch video twice and they try to remember their pronunciation.
STAGE 2 – PRACTICE
After the video, the teacher asks students which words they heard and she writes them
on the board. And then she wants them to repeat these words in a rhythm. Then the teacher
chooses a student, shows a word and asks the pronunciation of this word. And then all
students together repeat these words by applauding.
Then they play a game with the help of PPT presentation. Teacher shows some
pictures with PPT and wants students to guess which words they are by being careful about
their pronunciation. So, students can practice, memorize and repeat these words again and
also they can learn their pronunciation in an effective way, because minimal pairs have same
sounds.

every group and wants them to do these worksheets by discussing, so their social skills with
their friends can develop. In first worksheet there is a puzzle, she wants students to find the
words in the puzzle and repeat them out loud. And in the second worksheet she gives minimal
pairs in different places. They are all in different shapes. The teacher wants them to paint the
words which have same sounds by using same color. And at the end of the class they can sing
the minimal pairs song together by controlling the rhythm.
