• Content generation procedures based on rules, random numbers, etc.
• Also know as data amplification algorithms:
• Few parameters => large amount of content
• Common techniques:
• Fractals
• Rewriting systems

• Advantages:
• Saves effort / time / money
• Variation through randomness
