Raffael was an influential Italian Renaissance artist active between 1483-1520 who is renowned for his frescoes and paintings. Some of his most famous works include frescoes in the Vatican like The School of Athens and Disputation of the Holy Sacrament. He also produced famous Madonna paintings and portraits of popes. Raffael revolutionized the art of fresco painting and his works had a major influence on later generations of Western art.
