1. Job Title: HR Officer
Job Location: Shipley, West Yorkshire
Salary: 25k-30k, depending on experience
The Company

manufacture of can making machinery.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing a general HR service to line managers on site and
assisting in the preparation of monthly payroll data. You will also be tasked with supporting
the HR Manager with recruitment, employee and industrial relations, occupational health
and all other HR matters.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- To interpret site HR policy and assist line managers across the business to comply
- To recruit both temporary and permanent employees, ensuring all necessary
authorisations are obtained
- To prepare accurate and timely payroll data for submission to central Payroll.
- To maintain accurate HR and payroll records
- Deal sensitively with employee issues and queries
- Monitor and communicate employee absence levels across site
- Participate in and guide managers through employee meetings including discipline and
grievance
- Assist in the preparation of HR management reports and minutes
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you must have a good knowledge of HR practice and
employment law, some payroll knowledge would be a definite plus. You will need to be
easily adaptable, good with people, PC literate and familiar with HRIS and payroll processes.
Candidates should have:
- Experience of working in HR in a manufacturing, unionised business.
- CIPD, or working towards, or equivalent qualification.
- Good persuasion skills and personal accountability.
