THE GOAL IS TO CREATE A FUNCTIONAL ENVIRONMENT THAT
PROMOTES SUSTAINABLE DESIGN AND SUSTAIN-A-
BUILD’S EMPLOYEES. TO REFLECT SUSTAIN-A-
BUILD’S ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE IMAGE,
WE WILL USE NEUTRAL COLORS AND MULTIPLE
TEXTURES IN SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS, AS WELL AS
ERGONOMICS.
5. Tapas Bar
THE OBJECTIVE IS TO FASHION AN INVITING,
LIVELY SPACE THAT PROMOTES SOCIAL
INTERACTIONS. THROUGH THE USE OF
WARM COLORS, A VARIATION OF TEXTURE
AND A CUSTOM BAR DESIGN, WE WILL
ACHIEVE THE DESIRED ATMOSPHERE.
6. Lowell House Inn
THE OBJECTIVE IS TO CREATE A COMFORTABLE, INVITING
LOBBY FOR A BOTIQUE WISCONSIN HOTEL THAT
KEEPS THE INTEGRITY OF THE ORIGINAL GRIST
MILL. TO ACHIEVE THIS WE WILL USE CUSTOM
BUILT PIECES, RUSTIC MATERIALS, AND PERIOD
FURNITURE.
7. Condo Plan
THE OWNER WANTS A FRIENDLY, ENERGIZING
SPACE. WE WILL CREATE THE DESIRED
LOOK AND FEEL BY USING APPROPRIATE
FURNITURE, SPACE PLANNING, AND
FINSIHES.
8. Walensky Bathroom
THE OBJECTIVE IS TO DESIGN A LUXURIOUS
MASTER BATHROOM WITH AN EASTERN
EUROPEAN APPEAL. INSPIRED BY AN EARLY
20TH CENTURY OIL PAINTING, THE SPACE
WILL INCLUDE COLORS AND TEXTURES
FROM THE CITY.

10. Alvarado Kitchen
THE GOAL IS TO CREATE A KITCHEN WITH DISPLAY FOR
YORUBAN SCUPTURES, THAT INCORPORATES A
VIW OF LAKE MICHIGAN. THE SOLUTION HERE IS
TO SEPARATE THE SPACE INTO WORK-ZONES,
PROVIDE PLENTY OF STORAGE, AND TAKE
ADVANTAGE OF THE VIEW.

12. About Me
I believe design can be beautiful no matter how
functional it needs to be. Growing up in Alaska, I am
accustomed to being surrounded by an intriguing
amount of natural beauty. However, much of the
architecture is very bland. Every building looks the
same; they blend together in a mass of muted grays
and beiges (especially in winter). The reason these
buildings are built with little architectural interest is
because of the need to be earthquake proof and the
state’s rapid growth. As important it is for buildings to
withstand the earth’s tremors, today it is possible to
have sturdy buildings that are also quite attractive.
This is where I get my inspiration. Alaska has beauty
that is unparalleled. The intense beauty of our 49th
state inspires me always look for the beauty hidden
behind the grays and beiges of the world. I believe
interiors should reflect the integrity of the buildings
and surroundings that envelop them. It is my
philosophy to design according to the beauty that
surrounds you.
Thank you for reviewing
the contents of my portfolio.
