3. Introduction
“Using Technology for teaching and learning in the 21st century
classroom” is the way we collaborate, communicate, interact
and function in today’s society . It is a tool for educators to
implement to students for maintaining and bringing them to
their highest learning abilities. Technology in the classroom
has many sources that students may utilize to be prepared for
today’s workforce and the future. Technology also is a tool
used to maintain a learning environment that is conducive for
learning.
4. Teachers
Teachers are the facilitators for technology in the classroom
and therefore must identify with the needs of individual
students for the 21st century. They learn learners’ learning
styles and abilities and foster them for success. Teachers
implement technology standards, and set goals for many
opportunities for students to use technology in their
classrooms preparing them for the real-world. They realize
that technology also attracts students’ attention and
therefore they are learning.
5. Students
Today’s students are digital learners and if we’re going to meet
the needs of all learners we must modernized/restructure our
teaching approach and use technology in all realm of teaching
and learning. They are excite about technology , however, we
must present lessons and ideas to retain their attention for
learning. Students have to know what their doing is what they
need for the future.
6. Technology Resources
Technology is a critical part in the 21st century classroom.
Technology is a tool that creates critical thinking, problem
solving skills that to construct independent students and
learning. Some resources may include but not limited to;
computers, smart boards, laptop, digital camera, smart
phones, iPods and iPads. Having these tools students are able
to retrieve much information need to teach and learn.
7. Social Media
Today students are eagerly learning and using social media at
the palm of their hands. Social media is one of the accepted
avenues that we use to keep the lines of communication open
for teacher, students and parents.
They are used to share knowledge, ideas, pictures, videos and
thoughts. Some of these are;
Blog, wiki, facebook, youtube, and twitter, instagram, IM, and
the use of eyejot.
8. Stakeholders
Students, Parents, educators, administrators, colleges, univers
ities, Communities leaders, State legislators, corporations, and
nonprofit organizations all play a part in the curriculum
planning for our students. And they too must realize we have
to continue integrating technology in our schools, in the 21st
century to stay with the growing world of technology.
9. The looks of the 21st century
classroom
Teachers and students learning using technology. The teachers
have incorporated technology in all curriculum area. Their
lesson plans, learning resources, grades, interventions, and
assistive technology. Students are actively engaged revieling
their skills and learning.
10. Reflection
Educators who incorporate lessons, projects and quest in their
classroom using technology are better preparing their
students for the 21st century.
Students who participate have a better understand of what
the real-world is and acquired knowledge and skills.
