Gerber Alley (G-A) was an early healthcare IT company that experienced success partnering with Hewlett-Packard to market G-A's software on HP hardware. This allowed G-A to grow faster than competitors who partnered with IBM. By the late 1980s, G-A had over 900 employees and $90 million in revenue. However, the company bubble eventually burst and G-A was acquired by other firms until parts of its software continued to run for hospitals over 20 years later.
