The client is an IT subsidy of the largest Surface Transportation and Logistics Company in Europe and has been in the business for over 175 years. With
the company’s revenue of 31.3 billion Euros in 2008, they cater to 1835 million passengers with 27196 passenger trains and 4674 freight trains per day.
The IT subsidy manages 80000 IT-users, 120000 TC-connections, 18 SAP systems and numerous PS and Java technology systems to manage core
corporate functions and maintenance of wagons, tracks and other infrastructure.

Hexaware team will be working as an extended team for the client, supporting their technical
team in enhancements and bug fixes, carrying out small projects as a part of the functional
releases thrice a year. Technical support was provided in Maintenance Repair and Overhaul for
Railway wagons, document management system associated with MRO solution in SAP PM, QM,
PP, PS, DMS modules and core corporate functionality applications in SAP FI-AR, AP, AA, GL,
CO, SD and MM.
Most of the documentations were in local language. Experienced language resources were
inducted and a detail plan for translation wasoutlined with the client’s cooperation.
The client has been using SAP for more than 20 years. The applications were heavily customized
and additional efforts were carried out in understanding the application thoroughly with a well
planed KT, reverse KT, reverse system walk through and documenting understanding.
The client was unfamiliar to offshore partnering and hence frequent briefing and reporting of
progress was required by demonstrating the effectiveness of the processes through sight visits
and documentations and quantitatively showing the overall business benefits.
