Jack began his fantastic journey by waking up in freezing conditions, with his water frozen and wind gusting at 70 mph, making him decide to use kite-skis for travel. Upon exiting his tent, he dodged falling icicles the size of killer parsnips. After navigating an ice tunnel with his partner, they stood admiring the snowy mountains covered in fish-scale-like ice before Jack planned to cover miles and write a later update.

This morning I got out of my sleeping bag ......it's freezing
cold! I got dressed but I couldn't wash because my water had
frozen. I peeked out of the tent and the wind was about
70mph so I definitely know I'm going to use the kite-skis.
As soon as I got out of my tent a tunnel of ice had formed, and
some icicles like killer parsnips fell and nearly took my head
off, luckily I managed to dodge them!
When me and my partner got out of the tunnel, we just stood
there looking at the snowy mountains with ice like scales on
a fish.
I'll write to you later and let you know how many miles I
cover today.
