This is a 3-day agenda for a tour in the south Wales including Cardiff, Swansea, Rhossii, and Beacons that I planed for my trip in December 2010. Feel free to download it if you are interested in travelling to those beautiful bays in Wales.

Option 2: Caerphilly Castle
Location: on the A469 at Caerphilly; Price: Admission £3.50 adults; Transportation: Bus: 26 from Cardiff leaves for
Caerphilly every hour during the day (also bus no. 71 or 72). Caerphilly train with several departures daily from Central
Station in Cardiff. About 13km (8 miles) north of Cardiff is this imposing moated fortress built partly on the site of a
Roman fort. It was constructed by Earl Gilbert de Clare, Lord of Glamorgan, as protection against invasion by the
Welsh prince Llywelyn ap Gwynedd in the 13th century. The massive water defenses of the castle form the
second-largest castle area in Britain. You will note the leaning tower as you approach the castle, a result of efforts by
Cromwell to blow up the towers. Perhaps you'll see the castle ghost, the Green Lady. She is supposed to be the spirit of
a French princess who loved a handsome Welsh prince. When her husband, the Norman lord of Caerphilly, learned of
the matter, he sent her into exile, but her ghost is still supposed to be here, lamenting her lost love. There is no luxurious
interior filled with fascinating paintings or antiques, but you should come here mainly to see the impressive layout of
the castle, with its defenses and great gatehouse, along with a fortified dam separating the outer moat from the inner
moat. Wander also into the Great Hall.

Day 3: Brecon Beacons (For more information: http://www.brecon-beacons.com/)
The Places to Visit Easier Access Guide lists suitable places to visit in the Brecon Beacons National
Park for people who are either disabled, less mobile, visually impaired, elderly, parents with
children in pushchairs or even those who just want a nice, hassle-free stroll in the countryside!
Easier Access Guide Map: To view a map of the easier access routes and attractions.
Many of the locations listed provide the opportunity to relax and enjoy the unique nature of the area.
There is also the chance to visit the many attractions found in and around the Brecon Beacons
National Park.
The outdoor sites listed in this guide have been included due to their easier accessibility. The
landscape in the Brecon Beacons National Park is such that not all of these sites will be accessible
to everyone. However, this guide will help you to make informed decisions as to where to visit and
encourage individuals and families to safely explore the Brecon Beacons.
Natural erosion of paths and muddy sections can be a problem in certain areas, so the quality of
surfacing may vary between sites. The maintenance of each site is the responsibility of the
organisation or landowner managing the site. If you would like further information on a site prior to
your visit please contact the relevant organisation or visit their website.
Grid references in the guide are taken from either the Ordnance Survey Explorer Outdoor Leisure
map numbers OL12 and OL13 or the Landranger sheets 160 and 161.
If you have any suggestions for improving the content or presentation of this guide, please
contact Grenville Ham at the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, Plas y Ffynnon, Cambrian
Way, Brecon, Powys LD3 7HP.
Telephone: 01874 6220451. Fax: 01874 622574.
Local disabled access information is also available in the Brecnock Access Group 'Open for All'
guide.

on the menu.
