5. History of Unilever
William Hesketh Lever (its originator) commences business in
England as a grocer. He established Lever Brothers in 1890 in
England.
Margarine Uni was established in Netherland by Simon Van
and Anton.
Both companies losing out money in term of profit. These
problems led to think of the mergers in 1930.
UNI is taken from Margarine Uni and Lever is taken from
Lever Brothers to form UNILEVER.
6. Unilever Pakistan Limited
UPL was established in Pakistan in 1958.
First site was in Rahim Yar Khan.
Largest FMCG company now operating at six locations
in Pakistan.

Our company owns more than 400 brands, although its 25
largest brands account for over 70% of total sales.
Some brands are worth more than € 13 billion.
Unilever organizes its brands into four categories: Homecare,
Personal Care, Foods and Refreshment (which includes tea,
ice-cream and beverages).
Unilever's current largest-selling brands include: Becel, Blue
Band, Dove, Flora, Walls, Hellmann's, Knorr ,Lipton, Lux
(soap), Rexona, Surf, Sunsilk.
