  1. 1st slide: Tools for creating publications of your own on the web.
  2. 2nd slide: Scoop.it presents illustrated screenshots of web pages collected and organized under a certain topic. The service gives you chances for flexible thematic categorization, it is intuitive to use and the outlook is very impressive. The whole collection of scoops, as well as single scoops, can be easily shared in Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn and other services of Social media.
  3. 3rd slide: Before starting to scoop you can use Search to find out if the topic you have in mind was already scooped by someone else. You can’t start a new scoop under the title already taken. You can see in this example that the topic DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) was occupied by Kleri S. Instead, the topic DaF Community was not taken. I clicked on Create to start curating the topic DaF Community, or I click on New Scoop, which is an alternative way to do the same. I can curate 5 different topics without paying.
  4. 4th slide: I am curating scoops under the topic Dafnord (association for teacher of languages to promote digital learning) in this example. The taskbar available for the curator shows menus Manage, Views, Filter, Share and RSS. The scoops I have selected for this topic can be seen under the taskbar.
  5. 5th slide: The menus Manage, Views, Filter, Share and RSS are there to edit my Scoop site. Manage : I write the title and describe the title with some more words. I choose Customization: I can change many things such as logo, background, position of the title and my own insight. It’s possible to do even more things in the commercial version of S coop.it. Export: I can create widgets to put your Scoop.it on your own website or blog. Besides, I can disseminate my Scoop.it site as RSS feed or link. Manage Curators (commercial version): I can share scooping with other curators I have given the right. Create a Newsletter: the scooped schreenshots are pressed together as images as a newsletter and I can send it by email or save it as a .zip file on my computer or on any cloud service available for me. Views: I can check the situation of the scoops for the topic concerned. I can see how many suggestions there are for scooping further, how many visitors and how many scoops there are so far, the number of the possible followers and the responses of my audience
  6. 6th slide: More explanations for the functions of the task bar. Filter: I can give a key word to find all scoops for a topic concerned. Share: I choose the Social media services (FB, twitter, LinkedIn etc.) where I would like to share my scoops. They can be shared either in my own account or in a group. If it’s a closed group I need to be a member of it. RSS: the icon of RSS is there to show that I can direct my scoops as RSS feed further.
  7. 7th slide: Suggested Contents: this pops up automatically after I have chosen a topic and written my key words for the topic. Manage Sources: I choose which services and which key words I use for scooping my content. There are some default services for the case that I don’t customize them on my own. Filter by source type: I can add or take away source types (Google Blogs, twitter, You Tube, FB usw) . Clear Page: I can delete a whole group of suggestions. .
  8. 8th slide: There is a toolbar under every scoop to curate that specific scoop. The icons are the following ones: a dustbin for Delete, a pencil for Edit, a star for Put First, a cross for Change place, an arrow for Tags. The curator has a text area to give an insight. Writing your insights as the curator gives a lot of added value to scoops. There is also a text filed for visitors to write their comments. .
  9. 9th slide: These toolbar tools of a single scoop can be used for editing or deleting the scoop concerned.
  10. 10th slide: These toolbar tools of a single scoop can be used for changing the scoop to another place among the scoops, to star the scoop and put it to the first place (or to unstar it), to add tags for the scoop, or to share the scoop in the social media.
  11. 11th slide: If you want to enrich the topic with some content of your own, you can click on New Scoop fairly right above and add a link to that web page.
  12. 12th slide: There is the menu Notifications on the right side above. There is information about what is going on around your scoops in the Internet. Clicking on My Topics you can see all topics curated by you. It's possible to curate 5 topics without paying.
  13. 13th slide: You have got an amount of curator tools in the menu of your user profile. It's possible for you to organize your activities as a curator and as a user of Social Media better using these tools. Profile gives you information about My Topics, My Scoops and My Community. As the name says My Topics shows you a view about the topics you curate. My Scoops shows all your scoops, and My Community includes the topics of other curators you are following due to the fact that you are connected with them on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
  14. 14 th slide: Dashboard shows you What’s New on my Followed Topics, as well as My Curated Topics at a glance. By clicking on Discover you get recommendations to follow topics that are anticipated to interest you.
  15. 15 th slide: There are submenus Edit Profile, Plan, Sharing Options and Email Notifications to be used in Settings. You are more able to use Plan if you have a Pro version of Scoop.it. Sharing Options make it possible for you to exploit your social media accounts in Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, WordPress blog, Tumnlr, Appnet, Buffer, Viadeo and Yammer together with Scoop.it. For example, you can share your information about one of your whole topics or just one single scoop of yours in these services with click, click. Email Notifications can be adjusted concerning both the content and the schedule of them.
  16. 16 th slide: Apps & Extras allow you yo curate on the go, turn your browser into a powerful curation tool and optimize your blog. There are a large number of different apps in Apple, Android and Windows application stores to be downloaded. The choice here is pre-mediated for you.
  17. 17 th slide: Bookmarklet is a very nice method to scoop wherever you surf. You simply drag & drop the Scoop.it bookmarklet onto the taskbar of your browser. After that you are able to scoop any web page on the fly. Upgrade is what the name says: the feature list of different versions of Scoop.it: 1) Free for maximum 5 topics, 2) Pro $12,99 for a month for 10 topics and 3) Business $79 for a month for 15 topics. Paying for Pro or Business the curator can add up to 30 other curators for every topic.
