RAINFORESTS
By Sultanov Timur
Rainforests are very dense, warm, wet
forests. They are heavens for millions of
plants and animals.
Rainforests are important in the ecology of
the Earth. The plants of the rainforest
generate much of the Earth's oxygen. These
plants are also very important to people in
other ways; many are used in new drugs that
fight illness.
Animals of the Rainforests
• Different animals and plants live in different
parts of the rainforest.
• Rainforests are rich in animal life. Rainforests
are populated with insects (like butterflies and
beetles), spiders and ticks, worms, reptiles
(like snakes and lizards), amphibians (like frogs
and toads), birds (like parrots and toucans)
and mammals (like sloths and jaguars).
What animals live in rainforests?

The Importance of Rainforests
Tropical rainforests cover about 7% of the
Earth's surface and are VERY important to the
Earth's ecosystem.
Some of the foods that were originally from
rainforests around the world include cashew
nuts, bananas, pineapple, cucumber, cocoa
(chocolate), coffee, tea, avocados, papaya,
guava, mango, tapioca, sweet potato, cinnamon,
vanilla, oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes,
peanuts, rice, sugar cane, and coconuts.
People Living in Tropical
Rainforests
There are many groups of people who have
live in the tropical rainforests. These tribes get
their food, clothing, and housing mainly from
materials they obtain in the forests.
There are also lots of different plants in
rainforests. For example:
vines and
rubber trees
Why are rainforests in danger?
In many places, the rainforests are in danger.
People cut down the trees because they want
to grow rice and rubber trees to make rubber

Why are rainforests important?
The rainforests are very important for us. We

medicines.
