THERE IS ONE MAIN FUNCTION OF THE HEART ,[object Object],[object Object]

The heart consists of four chambers ,[object Object]

Left ventricle,[object Object]

Right atrium The right atrium receives blood from the Superior and Inferior Vena Cava, this is deoxygenated blood The blood flows from there into the left ventricle through the tricuspid valve. Valves are important they keep blood from flowing back into the heart

Left Ventricle ,[object Object]

Blood from the left ventricle is pushed out of the heart into the pulmonary artery where it is transported to the lungs

There is a valve between the pulmonary artery and the left ventricle-pulmonary valve

In the lungs oxygen is received into the blood,[object Object]

In right atrium blood is pushed into the right ventricle through the bicuspid valve.,[object Object]

Right Ventricle ,[object Object]

From here blood is pushed out to the body through the aorta.,[object Object]

LAYERS OF THE HEART Epicardium: outermost layer of the heart Myocardium: is the heart muscle Endocardium: innermost layer made up of simple squamous epithelium
