3. Causes: The greenhouse effect causes trouble by raising the temperature of the planet. The actual rise is not very much, but the Earth's ecosystem is very fragile, and small changes can have large effects.
4. Consequences: Hotter and cooler temperatures; General rise in sea levels, in part resulting from melting polar ice caps; Increased frequency and severity of storm systems such as hurricanes, windstorms and thunderstorms; Increased frequency and severity of droughts and floods; Loss of habitat and biodiversity; Expanded occurrence and distribution of serious health risks and diseases.
5. Solutions: Reducing use of fossil fuels would considerably reduce the amount of carbon dioxide produced; Eliminating the use of CFCs is something we can actually do; Basically, anything at all that uses less energy.
8. Effects: Extincionspecies of animals who lives in water; InacessibleSeas and rivers; Death of aquatic fauna and flora; Altered water temperatures (due to human actions) can kill the marine life; The food chain is damaged; Sanitation may be inadequate or non-existent in many countries.
9. Solutions: Conserve water; Reducing Pollution from Oil and Petroleum Liquids; Reducing Nutrient and Pesticide Pollution; Improvestormwatermanagement;
11. Causes: Acid rain is caused by smoke and gases that are given off by factories and cars that run on fossil fuels. Acid Rain can cause lots of damage to the environment as it pollutes water, and as a result killing fish harms forests, as the water table and water soil are contaminated with acid leaving no natural water for the trees to take up, and also damages the stonework of buildings.
12. Effects: Apart from plants, acid rain affects aquatic organisms adversely; Acid rain seeps into the earth and poisons plants and trees by dissolving toxic substances in the soil, such as aluminum, which get absorbed by the roots. Apart from causing harm to natural ecosystems, acid rain also damages man-made structures and materials.
13. Solutions: Reducing the amount of fossil fuels in the atmosphere; Using public transport in order to decrease the amount of cars; Using Scrubbers.
15. Causes: The most important direct causes of deforestation include logging, the conversion of forested lands for agriculture and cattle-raising, urbanization, mining and oil exploitation, acid rain and fire.
16. Effects: LossofSoilFertility; Loss of Plant and Animal Species; Soilerosion, landslides; Desertification; While there is enough oxygen supplied in the atmosphere.
