-  There are two bridges in the Rhine that also have had a very important rule in some events. The bridge in Arnhem was the central scene of the battle of Arnhem in 1944 and the one in Remagen was also very important because the Nazi troops couldn’ t  demolish the bridge in time and that allowed the allied troops to establish a head in German territory
