The ichthyosaurus was a lizard-like dolphin that lived in the sea and ate fish and other sea creatures. It had sharp teeth and a hard tail to hunt prey and defend itself from its main enemy, the elasmosaur, which could eat it in one bite. Scientists believe ichthyosaurs died out because large dinosaurs ate all their food sources.
