6. 6 The governments of Canada, British Columbia, and the Nis g a’a Nation are partners in the Nis g a’a Final Agreement, which sets out Nis g a’a Lands and the Nis g a’a people’s right to self-government. Tripartite Implementation Committee

13. 13 How This Issue has Affected the Implementation of our Agreement 1) Our Treaty and Fiscal Financing Agreement states that where federal and provincial programs and services are not included in the Agreement, they will be available to the Nis g a’a Nation upon application. However, we are continually rejected or ignored by federal officials.

14. 14 How This Issue has Affected the Implementation of our Agreement 2) The federal approach to implementing our land claims agreements is an approach that focuses on achieving narrow obligations rather than mutual objectives.

15. 15 The Way Forward 1 Recognition that the Crown in Right of Canada, not the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, is Party to our Agreements;

16. 16 The Way Forward 2 There must be a federal commitment to achieve the broad objectives of our Agreements within the context of the new relationship
