7. What’s the value of the Girl Scout Leadership Development Experience? The extraordinary leadership experience is provided through an annual $12 a year membership fee. Each $12 membership fee goes directly to Girl Scouts of the USA to pay for research and program development. But is that all it’s worth to you and your girls? Why does the council ask for money in addition?

Girl Scouts gives every girl access to life-changing experiences that inspire her to do something big. Girl Scouts is reaching a whole new generation of girls with its reenergized and revitalized new image, but Girl Scouts continues to be the premier leadership experience for girls that girls choose to experience fun, friendship and adventure.
Girl Scouts continues to ring true to the cornerstones of leadership, sisterhood, and inclusion, but it also resonates with girls. Centering around the new tagline, “What did you do today?” our new brand image communicates the power girls have to change the world!
Girl Scouts provides experiences that will challenge girls, take them to incredible places, and bring them to new heights of personal achievement. One out of ten girls in central and southern New Jersey participates in Girl Scouting and we want to help that number grow.
There are many great benefits of Girl Scouting for girls and adults and we want to let the more than one-quarter million girls in the ten New Jersey counties we serve know what Girl Scouting has to offer them, their families, and adult volunteers. So let us know, what did you do today?
Girl Scouts are given outstanding opportunities at every age to DISCOVER themselves and their values, CONNECT with others locally and even globally, and TAKE ACTION in our neighborhoods and beyond to make the world a better place. They learn for form opinions, verbalize them, and act to improve our communities, often through their inspiration and Girl Scout service projects.
Many Girl Scout families do not realize the $12 annual membership fee is paid to our national organization, Girl Scouts of the USA. Troops collect dues to cover their expenses. The cost of council-sponsored programs is kept to a minimum in order to serve as many girls as possible. Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ too, needs member support to offset the true costs of delivering the Girl Scout program. We ask for your support of the annual fund campaign.
Many short-term social, sporting and special interest groups for youth charge far more for membership. Think about the opportunities and the values provided through the Girl Scout Leadership Development Experience. A common question is that if volunteers serve the girls in troops and groups, why does Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ need my support?
Girl Scouts of needs support from corporations, foundations and individuals like you and me to cover operational costs, including leader background checks and training, materials, program development, and maintenance of service centers and properties.
Think about the Girl Scout Mission and the Girl Scout Promise and Law. The values provided through the Girl Scout Leadership Development Experience are priceless.
As we look toward Girl Scouts 100th anniversary in 2012, we will celebrate a century of girl-focused leadership development and begin brainstorming how Girl Scouts can impact the next 100 years. If you have already given to the 2011-2011 Annual Fund Campaign, THANK YOU. If you haven’t yet given, can we count on your contribution? Can we count on you to inspire others to also contribute? Again, thank you for all you do to help Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ bring the strongest resources possible to our girls and volunteers. Our girls are worth it!
