Instant Intelligence Analyser is an extensive application that gathers and indexes data of all formats, and then opens this up to the analysis. There is an ongoing program of R&D and any specialist data source can be rapidly added to the Instant Intelligence Analyser. The dotted lines indicate gathers still in development (but any urgent requirement would be ready almost immediately). The most basic application consists of office document gather only. The sources on the left, consist of a range of primarily UNSTRUCTURED sources and include Forensic Images. (Excel as unstructured) Memex is in place in a number of Agencies and Forces and may well be replaced by SSI but the data will still need to extracted, similarly with Autonomy data stores. The sources on the right are primarily structured and include Excel as structured data – including CSV, and data from Operational systems such as Police National Computer, Holmes 2, DNA databases etc. This could also include data from 3 rd party agencies such as DVLA, Crown Prosecution etc. Across the bottom are the web-based sources and applications, and include access to a wide range of news sites across the globe, at national, regional and local level. Data can also be gathered from ISPs and Telcos, either as part of an integrated whole or via RIPA requests. The final part of the equation is gathering multi-media formats including images, voice and CCTV.
