2. STEP ONE:
I decided to use Microsoft Publisher to
create my magazine front cover. This
would enable me to position
everything how I wanted it so I know
how it would look if it was a really
magazine front cover.
The first step was to open Publisher,
open an A4 page and then change the
page sizes to 0.22cm at each
dimension. This was done because
this is what a magazine front cover
would look like and it gives me more
space on the blank page.
3. STEP TWO:
I then chose the most appropriate
background colour and used the ‘fill’
tool to create the background grey.
I chose to use grey as it is a neutral
colour so it matches the Made In
Chelsea conventions and it also
matches the colours of the characters
clothes so everything links together.
4. STEP THREE:
Next, I used the ‘Shapes’ tool to draw
two boxes to create the straplines at
the top and the bottom of the page.
This was simple to do as I just drew
one box and then copied and pasted it
so it was exactly the same size
meaning it looks professional.
5. STEP FOUR:
I then used ‘wordart’ to produce the
Masthead. I chose a simple font as
this is what they do on TV and Satellite
so therefore i am matching the
conventions of my chosen TV
magazine.
I then positioned the masthead where I
wanted it which was in the top third of
the page as this is what the audience
will see when the magazine is on a
shelf.
6. STEP FIVE:
Next, I added the images in that i have
previously used edited on Photoshop. I
used three images of actors on my
frontcover as I thought this was the
best way to approach it. I positioned
them all how I wanted them so the
magazine looks as professional as
possible.
7. STEP SIX:
Lastly, I used all the previous skills to
create the features and the other
boxes that I used on my magazine
front cover. I combined all these skills
together to create my magazine front
cover and get it to the best standard I
could.
