This document summarizes a project called "Gold of Lithuania 2010" that aims to sail a charter yacht around the Mediterranean Sea to promote Lithuania, yachting, and the concept of "business pilgrimage." The journey will follow the 1583 route taken by a historical Lithuanian figure and visit 17 ports in 5 countries over 4 stages lasting 30 days total. The journey aims to sign cooperation agreements with local authorities and promote Lithuanian culture, history, and business opportunities.
14. SECOND "SILK" STAGE (~260 NMI) Sailing from the Muslim Turkey to Byzantine Island of Cyprus. Third island in the Mediterranean in terms of size but none the less impressive and charming. Silk yachting downwind towards the island and millennia of history... Average level of yachting, more than enough interaction. Benefit: crazy parties that can only be arranged by island inhabitants. Those interested in the grandeur and beauty of the Ottoman Empire will be fascinated. STAGE II DATES: 10-17 July 2010
15. THIRD "LEATHER" STAGE (~194 NMI) Sailing from Cyprus further from Syrian coast to Haifa and Tel-Aviv. Cautious stage, shorter than the rest, therefore, it is a genuine pilgrimage. To see Israel white as a lamb's skin, to get to know the most ancient roots of Christian culture is a challenge worth of you. To sail from the island to the continent is interesting for both the beginners and the advanced seafarers. Furthermore, a tour to the Holy Jerusalem is also intended (bus tour). Recommended for open-minded people and adventure-seekers. STAGE III DATES: 17-24 July 2010
16. FOURTH "LINEN" STAGE (~638 NMI) Sailing from Israel along Gaza Sector and African coast to Egypt. And then what? Straight to the Rhodes. Those longing for challenges. Those unafraid of dangers and harsh but durable linen clothing. For sailing day and night. For those dreaming of sailing into Alexandria by sea. Lots of yachting and endless chats of the crew: after all there cannot be anything better than fascinating stories in a night yacht under the starry skies. STAGE IV DATES: 24-31 July 2010
